I created this artwork from one of my own photographs taken in Provence, France. During that trip, I was searching for streets exactly like this one. A friend from Marseilles drove me through the region. At first, it was difficult to explain exactly what I was looking for because of the language barrier, but eventually he understood and took me to the small village of Allauch, where I found the scenes I had been hoping to photograph.
Back in my studio, I transformed one of those photographs using my mixed media process and layers of vivid heavy body acrylics.
