Inspired by a photograph I took while traveling through Vega, Texas, along historic Route 66. An old café and weathered truck caught my attention, a little piece of the past still sitting along the side of the road.
I built the piece using layers of collage, acrylic paint, drawing, handwritten words, marks and stamps. The layers bring together the history of the place with color and texture.
